It’s no secret that light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs are far more efficient than traditional incandescent lamps, most notably in that they use only a small fraction of the electricity of an incandescent.As traditional incandescent bulbs continue to be phased out, LED has become the mainstream light sources used on a variety of indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures.However, traditional LED bulbs are not without its disadvantages — the complicated designs which incorporate the heavy aluminum heat sinks and an electronic circuit for power conversion.As a result, the cost is high and the shape is somewhat strange compared with the elegant the incandescent bulbs people are accustomed to.

An LED filament bulb is a light bulb that uses LEDs as its filaments. Light is emitted from four LED filaments uniformly and evenly in all directions, instead of focusing it in a specific area in the way that many LED light bulbs do.

It features a close resemblance with the traditional incandescent bulb.Nevertheless the LED filaments are placed inside the glass enclosure in four sides to make sure that light is spread in all directions. A superfluous aluminum die cast for heat dissipation was no longer required. There is no delay in illumination when switched on. All the electronics is nestled inside the screw base which is almost not visible. The light produced by these bulbs is incredibly similar to natural light. But it does not have any infrared or ultraviolet radiation and it is uniform and soft on the eyes.

This bulb fits well into all the lighting fixtures that used the outdated incandescent light bulbs. After the regulations that banned the sale of the traditional light bulbs, several homeowners could not put in compact fluorescent bulbs .
